Lovely lynxen collection there Oracle :)

How do you get your pics to come inline, the image tag doesn't seem to work for me? Are those images stored local to the site?

Here's a rare pic :)

This was the vision for the re-released Lynx range, after the company was sold off to Bob Jones and the user group.

It's a standard 48k, but some spray paint and letraset and a new badge :)

The Leisure was supposed to be the 48/96 and the laureate was the 128.

Can't see the Lynx pictures...:-(

The forum has a local storage (much better than deep linking images). To attach an image to your post notice this when in Full Editor mode:

Attachments.png (11.34 KiB) Visto 1023 veces

In attachments you can add files (images) and then place them inline your message :-)

That's because are too big !
Try reducing dpi !
And take a look on your edited post.-

Better if you use .png max 800*600.
When using another formats, like .jpg, sometimes size is enormous and can't be displayed.
And it saves space in our server too.

Wow. Never seen one like that before. Adrian Graham of binarydinosaurs has a Lynx 128 with a white-ish top case plastic but I always assumed someone had just painted that for the heck of it.

Regarding to the issue of disk controller deployment in Lynx.
This Camputers Lynx core, loads software very fine, but you need to load from external tape or audio.
Actually we don't have a TAP loader to integrate into the core, should be a nice beginning.

To Do.
=====

1) Add TAP loader to load tapes directly from OSD.
2) Deploy a branch to cover Lynx FDC

MESS does support FDC, so you can manage disks.

Let's talk about how to improve this core. Cheers

Looks lovely ron,

It may be quicker to implement disks first if you have the 1793 core

Does the core run on Mister only or does it also work on the ZXUno (Mister seems to be £200+ whereas ZXUno is £65)

Runs on ZXUno ( limited without OSD or options ) in MiST, MiSTica and SiDi and of course on MiSTer.
A very nice FPGA board is the SiDi: https://manuferhi.com/p/sidi

It's 99€ , aprox 89 pounds.

update: The SiDi's Wiki in english: https://github.com/ManuFerHi/SiDi-FPGA/wiki

And the cores: https://github.com/ManuFerHi/SiDi-FPGA/ ... mputerLynx

Oh, my, I think I need to get in contact again with Frank, comparing their schematics with the originals, they're clearly different -banghead

I've started with the WE pulse width generator and bang, it's not the same:

original_LS221_1A_signal.PNG
original_LS221_1A_signal.PNG (643.31 KiB) Visto 931 veces

Original has the LS221's 1A signal routed to two OR gates from IC14 and to pin 15 of interface card connectors.

New schematic routes 1A to a third OR gate IC2!, no idea if this is intended; but this OR gate is originally routed to FDC1793's A0 and pin 14 of interface card connector:
original_1793_A0.PNG
original_1793_A0.PNG (401.41 KiB) Visto 931 veces

In the new schematic, as this OR gate is not free, routes directly A0 signal to pin 14:

Wrong A0.PNG
Wrong A0.PNG (40.39 KiB) Visto 931 veces

That's not good at all, I've lost a lot of time and effort working on it -banghead

What format is that new schematic in? Do you have the whole in PNG that I can see?

The schematics are in DipTrace format. It can't export to any other image format; but I can try to generate a PDF with the right drivers. Maybe are you used to DipTrace?, Eagle perhaps?

I use Eagle, but only because the engraver is set up for it. I should start learning one of the new open source ones like KiCad.
I used to use EdWin which was pretty nice for the time in the mid 90s.

There are a couple of different schematics for the controller board I've seen, one is French and uses a 1770, whether this means a different ROM in the addon module I don't know but the schematic is very simple when compared to the original.

Of course I have no way of knowing whether these interfaces work, I do not know the author of these designs.
